Description

Reporting to the Roads & Drainage Manager, the Drainage Superintendent is responsible for the management of the municipal drain system for the Town of Minto, including all new drain construction and drain maintenance projects in compliance with the Drainage Act. This position may be shared with a neighbouring municipality. The Superintendent ensures the legal compliance and adequate construction, maintenance and assessment of municipal drains as well as providing technical/professional expertise regarding project work performed on municipal drains including open ditches and tile drains. This position may require working various shifts, including evenings and weekends.  Normal hours of work for this position will be up to forty (40) hours per week.

Qualifications

  • Completion of the Drainage Superintendent Course through OMAFRA is considered an asset
  • Certification with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs as a Drainage Superintendent or willingness to obtain.
  • Civil Engineering Technology (CET) considered an asset.
  • Experience as a Drainage Superintendent or in a similar role is considered an asset.
