Pike Lake Golf Centre Limited is located minutes from the towns of Mount Forest and Harriston. It is scenically located on the beautiful Pike Lake. Offering two meticulously maintained golf courses; an 18 hole “Links” course and a 9 hole “Lake” course. In 2004, Pike Lake held the Ontario Men’s Mid-Am and in ’05 held the Ontario Men’s Mid-Am Qualifier. For 57 years, Pike Lake has been family owned and has underwent several renovations throughout its history to make it the facility it is today.

Position to be Filled: Assistant Superintendent

Position Description:

Pike Lake Golf Centre Limited is currently seeking a highly motivated individual who is looking to further their development. This position includes assisting with fertilizer and chemical applications and all cultural practices on the golf course, water management and repair, construction and renovation, record keeping (IPM scouting, inventories, and scheduling), supervising and leading small crews, and assisting the Superintendent with day-to-day operations. Along with the Superintendent, co-ordinate the maintenance tasks amongst a busy tournament schedule and a high number of rounds played. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to continue learning the hands-on aspect of the industry while being introduced to some management responsibilities. This position is paid hourly with benefits and has the potential for 12-month employment.

Must possess a valid Driver’s License

Graduate of a post-secondary Turf Management program

Must possess a valid Ontario Exterminator License

Experience applying fertilizers and chemicals is an asset

Must be familiar with the IPM process and have experience with its procedures

Must be able to work in a team environment

Solid time management, organization, and prioritization skills

Minimum 3 years experience on a golf course

Some irrigation system experience is an asset including an automatic Toro system and an older block system
